Atlanta – Special Agent in Charge (SAC) Gregory Jones, FBI Atlanta, requests assistance from the public regarding today’s armed robbery of the Suntrust Bank, located at 3603 Chamblee Tucker Rd., Tucker, Georgia. On Thursday, July 5, 2007, at approximately 10:30 a.m., the Suntrust Bank, 3603 Chamblee Tucker Road in Tucker, Georgia was robbed at gunpoint.
Witnesses at the bank stated the robber walked into the bank and went directly into the manger's office. The robber displayed a handgun to the manager and told the manger to go behind the teller counter to get him the money.
The robber and the manager walked to the teller counter and then behind the counter. Once behind the counter, the manager told the employees they were being robbed and several tellers began to give the manager money. The money was placed into a white plastic bag and then given to the robber.
The robber calmly walked out of the bank. After leaving the bank the robber ran and made it a short distance before a dye pack exploded. The robber dropped the dye pack and a small amount of cash and continued to run o what is believed to be a white Oldsmobile Cierra. No further information was available as to the location of the robber once he fled.
The dye pack and small amount of money was recovered and returned to the bank.
The robber is described as follows:
Race: Black Sex: Male Age: 35-40 Height: 5'7" - 6'2" Weight: 160-210 lbs. Build: Medium Complexion: Light skinned brown Clothing: Long sleeved, yellow, suede hooded top with a baseball hat that matched the color of the top (the hat had an "A" on the front of it), long black shorts, rainbow tinted sunglasses with silver or gold framed sunglasses Misc.: White plastic trash bag Weapon:
