Atlanta – Special Agent in Charge (SAC) Gregory Jones, FBI Atlanta, requests the assistance of the public in locating and apprehending John Donald “Don” Butler, wanted by FBI Atlanta and numerous other jurisdictions for a series of bank robberies committed in the Metro Atlanta area and in the Southeast.

Butler is wanted by the Sandy Springs, Georgia Police Department for bank robberies that occurred on 10/24/07 (Best Bank, 4920 Roswell Rd., Sandy Springs, GA) and 11/27/07 (Suntrust Bank, 8725 Roswell Road, Sandy Springs, GA).

Butler is further believed to be responsible for the following additional bank robberies:

10/29/07: Bank of America, 1750 Hudson Bridge Rd., Stockbridge, GA

11/06/07: Suntrust Bank, 3455 Peachtree Industrial Blvd., Duluth, GA

11/12/07: Suntrust Bank, 4560 Harding Pike, Nashville, TN

11/17/07: Suntrustt Bank, 3540 Mt. Holly-Huntersville Rd., Charlotte, NC

11/19/07: Wood Forrest National Bank, 2401 Augusta Rd., Columbia, SC

11/20/07: Suntrust Bank, 1620 Moreland Ave., Atlanta, GA

11/23/07: Suntrust Bank, 1544 Piedmont Rd., Atlanta, GA

11/27/07 (see above – Sandy Springs, GA)

11/29/07: Suntrust Bank, 4279 Roswell Rd., Atlanta, GA

Butler is known to have family ties to the Macon, Georgia area and this was his last known address. He is a known drug user and, although he has not produced a weapon in the above robberies, he should be considered armed and dangerous.
