Atlanta – Special Agent in Charge (SAC) Gregory Jones, FBI Atlanta, requests the public’s assistance in identifying and capturing those responsible for this afternoon’s armed robbery of the Wachovia Bank, located at 6063 Memorial Drive, Stone Mountain, Georgia.

At approximately, 4:30 pm, Wachovia Bank, located at 6063 Memorial Drive, Stone Mountain, Georgia, was robbed by approximately five young black males.  The robbers quickly entered the banking center, brandishing dark colored semi automatic handguns.  One of the robbers took a position over the customers in the banking center, and ordered them to the floor, while the others ran towards the teller windows.  Another robber entered behind the teller windows while the others vaulted the counters and demanded the money from the tellers.  Upon taking an undisclosed amount of money, the robbers then fled through the rear of the banking center, across and adjacent animal hospital and through a nearby shopping center.  The robbers were described as ranging between 22 to 35 years, 5'8" and 5'11", and all having medium builds.  The robbers were dark colored, baggy clothing, and white scarves and/or coverings over their faces.
